當地警方在英國時間6月20日凌晨5時多接到報案，稱有兩人闖入斯坦斯特德機場並損壞兩架飛機。
「停用石油」組織承認對此事負責。機場發言人後來向媒體表示：「跑道運行暫停了很短一段時間，但沒有航班受到干擾，機場運行正常。」

從該組織發布的一段影片顯示，兩女用電動工具切開機場圍欄後，迅速穿過跑道，將橙色油漆噴塗在兩架私人飛機機身。其中一女說：「我們剛剛把這架飛機噴得一團糟！」另一人接話：「還有它後面那架。」接着她們表示：「我們需要一條國際條約，禁止燃燒所有石油、煤炭與天然氣。當人們在捱餓，精英與富人飛行在我們頭頂上成千上萬英呎的高空。億萬富翁是不可碰觸的。」
有報道指出，Taylor Swift是2022年私人飛機碳排量排行榜第一名，也因此招致粉絲與環保人士批評。英國媒體報道，被捕的其中一女曾是Taylor Swift的鐵粉，沒想到後來卻以激烈行為反對Taylor Swift使用私人飛機。
除了這宗事件，「停用石油」前一天才因對世界文化遺產巨石陣潑灑橘色粉末而登上媒體版面，當時該組織兩名人士被拘留。
