李克勤最近在內地節目暢談過往出席香港樂壇頒獎禮的感受，曾經是頒獎禮常客的他說：「拿到的時候就好玩；拿不到的，你回到家裏會懷疑自己，『唉，天呀。』」他坦言最難過不是拿不到獎，最難過是沒受到邀請：「你連去的機會都沒有，那才是最難過，我也遇過，有一年沒有人邀請我，家裏的人不敢提，因為怕我沒機會去，結果真的沒機會去。所以其實那個時候，其實大家都在意的時候，是真的能夠推動每一位歌手，去盡自己最大的努力，拿最好的出來，大家都去做最好的。」
