《第78屆金球獎》宣布電影劇情組最佳男主角得主，美國男星「黑豹」Chadwick Boseman憑遺作《藍調天后》（Ma Rainey's Black Bottom）飾演爵士樂手奪得影帝，擊敗《曼克》（Mank）的加利奧文（Gary Oldman）、《爸爸可否不要老》（The Father）的安東尼鶴健士（Anthony Hopkins）、《Sound of Metal》的Riz Ahmed、與《The Mauritanian》的Tahar Rahim。Chadwick遺孀Taylor Simone Ledward致詞時爆喊代亡夫答謝一眾單位，場面感人！
憑漫威超級英雄片《黑豹》（Black Panther）走紅的Chadwick，上年8月因大腸癌離世。今次是他首次於《金球獎》獲提名與獲獎，是繼1977年英國男星彼得芬治（Peter Finch）憑《電視台風雲》（The Network）獲獎後，第2位死後獲金球獎最佳男主角的影星。
