藝人洪天明近年主攻內地發展，不時透過社交平台發片與粉絲互動吸人氣。早前，他模仿近期內地盛行的「我是雲林的」片段來介紹香港。片中他以全身黑色造型，以普通話唱着「我是香港的，香港九龍的，九龍的靚仔。香港話是這樣說的，爸爸叫『老竇』，媽媽叫『老母』，老婆叫『老虎』，我最愛『老虎』」的歌詞，結果引來網民訐擊，指責他為何不說成「中國香港」，引起爭議。
事後他再上載一條短片用普通話澄清：「我說『我是香港的』，有很多人在噴我說我應該說我是中國香港的，香港肯定是中國的，香港回歸那麼多年了，還有很多人不知道香港是中國的嗎？」他又舉例表示如果是來自北京或上海的話，亦不會稱「我是中國北京的」或「我是中國上海的」。倘若對方不熟悉中國的外國人來說，便就會加上「中國」兩個字，他表示：「如果在中國以內我覺得不需要，對吧，我在國外不同，方果老外問我『Where are you from?』（我會說）I'm from China，（老外問）『Which part of China?』（我會說）China Hong Kong，但是作為一個中國人在中國的話，香港你不知道是中國的嗎？」
