消費者委員會測試發現18款人造牛油含有基因致癌物環氧丙醇，含量由每公斤13微克至640微克，當中16款同時驗出污染物氯丙二醇(3-MCPD)，含量由每公斤44微克至1100微克。消費會表示，環氧丙醇具基因毒性和致癌性，而氯丙二醇則會損害腎臟功能及影響雄性生殖系統。
